So, I'm not sure if this is religious or just something that I'm prone to. For me it is a happy duty, I suspect. I share when I can. Well tonight we made Fish and chips. There was some fish left over.
I gave the kitten some, who happily ate some and will I suspect eat more later. He certainly was unhappy when a portion fell beyond his reach. At any rate the fish is in his food bowl.
I gave some to the neighbors cats, who come over to my porch. Cry baby(the nickname of one) seems to like it here, despite my autistic son picking him up and squishing him. Tabitha, the oriental who puts up with us and occasionally allows us to pet her, also likes it here. It may have something to do with feeding her cheese and chicken and stuff, same with cry baby, plus when I can afford it, I buy extra cat food and give to them. (Poor cat, I can feel her ribs sometimes and they eat).
I fed them some of the left over fish today. Cry baby got his earlier and when Tabitha came by, I gave her, her parts in pieces, nudging cry baby away. And if I couldn't she swatted at Cry Baby. She quickly and didn't bite my fingers took the fish from me and swallowed it. If my fingers were empty, she was sniffing me and near me to see where the pieces of fish were. I just feel happy she had good aim, cause she wanted that fish, and if she didn't my finger tips would have suffered.
I'm such a sucker for strays. Human, cat, what have you.

Tess got me thinking. http://tessdawson.blogspot.com/2013/10/breathing-aethers-experiencing.html So I will hopefully, when I get the thoughts coalesced post something on this, from my experiences. I would love to hear from others in the blogging world, if this is true to them as well.

Chicken, lemon sauce, cream cheesy pasta recipe thing for the grove
I could have made this more cleaned up, but the first time was going to be family style. The next time will use the optional ingredients to make it more FANCY. But family style is imp, to me. The Gods and the spirits aren't high mucky mucks to me, they are part of the family. I just realized this a week ago, so haven't really had much time to flesh it out more then that.
I went grocery shopping the other day. Got some chicken breasts on rib bone, figured I'd do something with them over pasta. Went to the egg area to get stuff to make bread pudding, saw Italian cream cheese stuff and was poked, make me something like that with the chicken, and the lemon butter sauce too, went ok. This is the recipe result, will make it again next time I shop but it will be better. The lemon butter had burnt bits, cause my autistic son was helping my daughter cook.
Chicken breasts
www.kraftrecipes.com/philadelphia/all-products.aspx I used the italian herb one
www.landolakes.com/product/SauteExpress.aspx You can make your own, from scratch but this is cheaper and just as good
Knorr chicken stock condensed stuff.(size of a quarter of butter, has the flavor of chicken stock but I have more space for it, then I did regular chicken stock and I don't have to worry about it going bad.) You can use your own chicken stock or the stuff in a quart container.
Tri color pasta
Carrots
onions
optional
garlicwhite wine
thyme
pepper
marjaram
Ok you brown the chicken breasts, do it in regular oil, we used the lemon pepper and it burnt, due to having the chicken put up to high. When the chicken is browned, add the onions and sliced up carrots, sautee those. Put back the chicken and add the lemon butter sauce. Add on top the cream cheese, let it melt, then add in the chicken stock thingy with water, or regular chicken stock. Here is where you can put in the wine(for more of a gourmand flavor plus antioxidants.) and garlic and more spices.
Serve over tri colored pasta.
Tagging
If someone could comment and tell me how to tag, so that it shows up on the left as links or searches to posts I've done, I'd appreciate it. Having a technotwit moment.
Jungian spirituality and Pantheism.
There are valid ways to be Pantheist. There are valid ways to use Jungian thought forms. I personally find it bland and uninspiring but that's me. Hell there are even valid ways to do Pop Culture spirituality, see many of the people who are doing Jedi. Taylor Ellwood manages to do it.
I also find it a safe way to practice religion. With a Jungian thought form, or pop culture icon, or even all Gods are One God and all Goddess are one Goddess, you aren't risking a Deity being mad at you, for not managing your relationship right. Which is what us Polytheists have with our Deities, a relationship.
When all Gods are one God and all Goddesses are one Goddess(and why don't we just merge the two into some sort of Monotheism, I dunno) it leaves the door open for permission to culturally appropriate. Why it's then perfectly ok to insert Kwan Yin(http://www.religionfacts.com/buddhism/deities/kuan_yin.htm) into the role of Goddess in a Wiccanesque ritual. It is also then perfectly ok to insert Osiris into the role of God in that ritual. (http://www.religionfacts.com/neopaganism/paths/kemetic.htm). Likewise it is also ok to use Santa Muerte(http://witchrants.wordpress.com/tag/santa-muerte/) and Coyote.
These Deities, all have their own cultures that they are part of. It is insulting to insert them into a Wiccanesque ritual, because you are too lazy to learn how they are worshiped where they are at. It is insulting to pick them out of a Gods list and stick them in a ritual, because you like some of their shallow personality traits, or whatever power you think they hold over the universe. It is also lazy. The Gods, even thought forms aren't some plug and play device.
If you aren't sure about the Gods, then use neutral terms. Use Lady or Lord or whatever Title seems appropriate. Unknown God or Goddess, or sacred whosywhatsit, or Queen or what the role is, you think they should be. But don't grab a God and stick them into that role, without doing some research, or even asking and really listening. Would you want to be grabbed and instructed to give blessings on asphalt pot holes, when you are a doctor?
The roots of this are http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_White_Goddess and http://www.nostrajewellery.org/files/M-A-Murray-The-God-of-the-Witches.pdf. The first is written by a poet, in the early 1900's. The second by an anthropologist, also early in the 1900's. Both were found out to be wrong.
Yeah it's beautiful writing. It evokes beautiful metaphors. It is also too clean and puts the poetic thing on a pedestal. It is a painting of an idea, not a picture of the Deity. It is the writing of a troubadour, someone who reveres a lady, but from afar. Sounds romantic, but the troubadour doesn't have to deal with the pms or the morning sickness either.
There are richer tales from where the White Goddess came from. Look to the http://www.sacred-texts.com/neu/celt/cft/, or the Eddas(granted colored in Christian theology). Look to the tales of that land, not the prettied up stories told by later poets. It's akin to reading and worshiping Mother Goose vs the real Grimms fairy tales.
I'll come back to this later tonight. I'm starting to type in circles.

Some Positives
I want to highlight some people who have done stuff for the community, that aren't known much. I may not even agree with them on stuff, but they are doing the work. I think it is important to say something.
http://wildhunt.org/2013/02/patrick-mccollum-responds-to-9th-circuit-five-faiths-ruling.html
many of the other unsung Pagan prison chaplains, that are doing the hard work, I'll try to highlight some of those organizations later.
Morrigan Oran, who is now in Washington state, she helped set up the Dragonfly temple in Manhattan ks.
Ralph Romig, chieftain of Tyrs Helm.

Fired up rant
Do not get on me, for being mean. Look up the definition of a rant. This is the only caveat you will get.
So the past week or so, I had commented here. http://www.patheos.com/blogs/allergicpagan/2013/09/28/what-a-pagan-can-tell-you-about-whether-mormons-are-christian/ I had ignored it after a few days until cough "Quentin" had replied to me. Quentin knows who he is, shakes my head.
It is this type of Pagan that many of the Pagans listen to. There are many things wrong, in my opinion, with what he says. And he is an example of what I find wrong with the Pagan sphere.
1. His research sucks a lot. He put Galina Krasskova(in an earlier blog) in with Heathens and authority, when any small modicum of research would show that no, she is most assuredly not. Galina and Asatru equals shit storm.( I don't agree with the Heathens on this, but whatev, point is, he didn't look past his darn nose and opinion)
2.I despise this word, I despise the politics behind it, but I'm going to use it. It is awfully privileged to tell Quentin, who is gay, whether he can use the word Fag. Screw privileged it is HUBRIS. John you are straight and granted you may be a supporter of LGBT, and it may be your blog(A blog that is on Patheos and ergo kinda a semi professional zine type thing, but I"ll get to that later), but to say you can't say that on my blog without more of a reason is Hubris pure and simple. You don't get to dictate, ignore and sweep under the rug the reclaimed term Fag that a Gay guy is using. There are very good and essential reasons he was using it. Quit beigeing the world, cause someone might be offended.
3. He demands acceptance of his stance. He is a Jungian Pagan, who wants to claim he is Polytheistic. No, you aren't. You don't follow Gods, you follow psychological thought forms(Jung is a Psychiatrist. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Jung Jung is a school in psychology, so is Freud(the father of psychoanalysis, not the father of psychology). While some of his stuff is interesting, I can not support him defining himself as a Polytheist, when some research points him more as a Pantheist. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/polytheism Pantheist definition. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/pantheist Definition of Deity. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/deity Definition of God http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/god
A Jungian thought form is not a God. I wouldn't even put it as a god. I will support you, if you want to worship that way, cause frankly it aint no skin off my nose if you choose to do so. I will open the Pagan tent to you, but for the Love of the GODS quit trying to define yourself as something you aint.
4. Quit making people into meany fundy pooh pooh heads if they have the temerity to say you are wrong. See his article and his link to Galina Krasskova. It isn't mean, unethical to say someone is wrong. I realize this is a great sin in today's Pagan land, of special snowflakes and their fragile hypersensitive ego's, but dayum.
He also has a huge problem with Scalia and labels him the huge sinful name of Fundamentalist and demagogue there too. Scalia isn't, he's a bloody Strict Constitutionalist. He took after William H Rehnquist, one of the chief Justices of the Supreme court. Halstead is a Lawyer and should know better btw. You are taught how to argue, you are taught how to source and research for fraks sake.
5.How the hell can I argue the seriousness of Pagandom, with people like this as Big name Pagans, to my local Methodist minister,or the Southern Baptist preacher. How, when frankly my 14 year old and my 9 year old act with more maturity on being told they are wrong. Hell my 14 year old can debate better and source herself better.
What bugs me the most is, while he writes mature, the emotion behind it is basically all the teenage angst of someone rebelling against their parents. That isn't mature theology. I can't argue that my local ministers should respect it, when I have a hard time.
I'll edit in more later
